About Bishop David Toups

Bishop David Toups was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Saint Petersburg, FL, in 1997. Assigned for the next four years as parochial vicar to St. Frances Cabrini in Spring Hill, FL, he also participated in the diocesan Presbyteral Council and the National Federation of Priests’ Councils. Subsequently he served at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach, FL, as a professor, assistant dean, and then dean of students. From 2007 to 2010, he served as the associate director of the Secretariat of Clergy, Consecrated Life and Vocations at the USCCB; from 2010 to 2012, as pastor of Christ the King Parish; for the next eight years, as rector of the St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary. On June 9, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him as bishop of the Diocese of Beaumont, TX. Bishop Toups holds an STL from the Pontifical Gregorian University and an STD from the Angelicum.
