About Fr. Boniface Ramsey

Boniface Ramsey was ordained as a priest in the Dominican Order in 1973. He received a doctorate in theology in 1983, following his studies at the Institut Catholique (Paris), and taught patrology at The Catholic University of America and Seton Hall University, among other places. His introductory book on patrology, Beginning to Read the Fathers (1985), continues to be widely read; he is also the general editor of The Works of Saint Augustine: A Translation for the 21st Century. In 2004 Fr. Ramsey joined the Archdiocese of New York, where he has been active in several parishes. He currently resides at St. Rita's Parish in Long Island City.
